Makerspace
Hands-on projects with hardware: Soldering, wiring and microcontrollers. From the smart mirror to the wordclock to a self-automated smart home, all designed and built myself.
Consulting is what I do, not all of who I am. Off the clock you will find me on a tennis court or a racing bike, in the mountains, in my makerspace, on the floor playing with my daughter, or traveling to discover new cultures. Here is the other side of the story.
Movement is my counterweight to screen time. Tennis and racing bike rides are my regulars; add jogging, swimming, hiking, and bouldering in the warmer months, and skiing once the mountains turn white. My sport shoes travel with me on every business trip.
Back in my youth I did competitive athletics: Sprinting, 110m hurdles, relay race. The sport has never really let go of me since. I am always on the lookout for new challenges and love trying out new adventures.
I always need a side project going, sometimes with a soldering iron, sometimes with code. Two sides of it:
Hands-on projects with hardware: Soldering, wiring and microcontrollers. From the smart mirror to the wordclock to a self-automated smart home, all designed and built myself.
Cool software solutions, with and without AI: Local LLMs, self-built agents, and automations that make everyday life easier, the playful side of my AI practice, away from client work.
Ten years ago my career was priority number one. Today that spot is taken: I am married, we have a wonderful daughter, and a dog named Dookie who firmly believes he is part of the management team. Family taught me to focus on what actually matters and to be fully present, whether in a workshop or at the playground.
I am rediscovering nature and the focus for the small things. When was the last time you watched a beetle for 10 minutes?!
With a child, we are not (yet) exploring the wide world of international travel and other cultures. Instead, we are currently exploring the animal world: Wildlife parks, the zoo, farms, and generally the outdoors.
A glimpse into my experiences and snapshots from family life and adventure, sports, travel, and other cultures.
